About OHB

About us.

We are a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to rescuing and rehoming dogs and cats in need. While many of our animals come from North-Central Arkansas, we proudly transport them to loving homes across the Eastern United States. Every rescue is a step closer to a better life—for them and for the families who welcome them.

Pets Adopted

Over the past 15 years, we’ve rescued, healed, and found loving homes for hundreds of dogs and cats in need. Each one has a story—and thanks to our dedicated volunteers and supporters, those stories now have happy endings.

Projects & Activities

We’re proud to be an active part of our local community—participating in events, hosting spay and neuter clinics, and working alongside others to promote responsible pet care. Our mission goes beyond rescue—we’re here to educate, support, and uplift both animals and the people who love them.

Years In Rescue

Since 2010, our rescue has been proudly serving the animal community for over 15 years. What began as a small effort to help local dogs and cats has grown into a passionate mission to save lives, provide second chances, and place thousands of animals into loving homes across the Eastern United States.

Our Amazing Team

Our rescue team is made up of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly beyond their regular jobs to save lives. From late-night bottle feedings to early-morning transport runs, they foster, coordinate vet care, and do whatever it takes to ensure every animal is safe, healthy, and loved.

Foster Heroes

Our Foster Heroes open their homes and hearts to dogs and cats in need, giving them love, stability, and a safe place to heal. Their care prepares each animal for the forever family they deserve.

Freedom Riders Team

The Freedom Riders Team transports rescue pets to safety, whether it’s a vet appointment, foster home, or adoption event. They’re the road warriors who help our animals move forward to better lives.

Healing Hands Crew

The Healing Hands Crew supports veterinary care by helping with appointments, post-op recovery, and medication schedules. They’re a vital part of making sure every rescue receives the care they need to thrive.

Digital Lifeline Team

The Digital Lifeline Team keeps our online presence strong by managing social media, updating our website, and creating content that connects people to our mission. Their work helps more animals get seen, supported, and adopted.
